Carsten Mildenstein

Vice-President, Credit

As vice-president of credit for Island Savings, Carsten oversees credit adjudication and the management of risk in the commercial and retail lending portfolios. He works closely with the retail and commercial lending teams to assist in developing growth opportunities. Carsten has 12 years of experience in commercial and agricultural banking, as well as expertise in financial analysis and assessment. He has completed the Canadian Securities Course, the Dale Carnegie Course, the Agribusiness Management Development Program, and numerous leadership and management courses.

Carsten joined Island Savings in 2015 after serving as vice president of commercial banking at the Bank of Montreal. Previously, he held leadership positions in business banking at both Servus and Mountain View Credit Union. Carsten has a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Calgary. He also has five years of experience operating a farm in Saskatchewan. Island Savings’ member-focused philosophy is reflected in Carsten’s leadership style and the value he places on relationships.
